Sustainability is important for us

Sustainability is important for us

The construction sector is among the world’s largest consumers of natural resources and emitters of CO2. This requires us all to take responsibility, to be receptive to new demands and changing expectations – and to be able to turn climate challenges into sustainable opportunities.

We want to contribute to the green transformation of the construction industry and ensure that the Aarsleff Group has a unified approach to sustainability that creates value for customers, employees and society.

Over the years, we have launched a number of initiatives to help Aarsleff Pipe Technologies move in a more sustainable direction. Some of the initiatives are brand new. Others are more than 10 years old. But what they all have in common is that they are promoting the green transformation in the construction industry.

Did you know that up to 90 percent of our felt liners are made from recycled fibers from PET bottles? A type of plastic bottle made from polyester that we typically know as water and soda bottles. The bottles are broken down into flakes, which are melted down and spun into new fibers that are used in the felt liner. This is not a well-known fact but shows that we are looking into sustainability matters.

We are obviously also fully committed to support the UN Global Goals, and we have a goal of becoming even more green and sustainable. We are not there yet – it’s a journey indeed – but we are fully focused on the road ahead.
